Subscribe NowThe Berlin Philharmonic’s legendary Berlin Wall concert in November 1989, conducted by Daniel Barenboim. Today, the members of the orchestra refer to the event simply as “THE concert”. In place of tickets, the East German citizens only had to show their identity cards. The queues began to form outside the Philharmonie at five in the morning. Interviewed during the interval, the chairman of the orchestra broke down in tears in front of the cameras.
