The clear blue waters of the Mediterranean become a dance partner in “Otherworldly: Dancing in the Deep.” For underwater dancers, the connection between movement and environment opens up a space of total mind-body presence. Dreamlike underwater footage captures the dancers as they roll, dive, rise, and float in an ethereal state of suspension. In a practice that blends freediving techniques with a creativity that surrenders to the dynamics of water, the dancers learn and share a new way to move with elemental grace.
